Your Windy City Roofing Experts
March 16, 2016ABC 7/CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago area is in for a windy Wednesday. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph are expected in most of the area during the day, with potential for wind gusts greater than 55 mph, ABC7 Meteorologist Tracy Butler said.
A High Wind Warning will be in effect for Cook, DuPage, Kane, DeKalb, McHenry and Lake counties in Illinois and all of southern Wisconsin from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. A High Wind Advisory will be in effect for counties along I-80 and south of I-80 during the same time period.
The weather service said the strong west winds could make travel difficult Wednesday, especially for high-profile vehicles on north-south roads. Property damage is also possible.
